Blue Zones Project Monterey County, in partnership with Salinas City Center, have placed arrows throughout the downtown area, primarily on Main St. through Oldtown Salinas, to create an urban one-mile walking loop. The route will take you underneath the Downtown Salinas Rotary Arch, past the Taylor Building and Steinbeck Center, along Gabilan and Monterey Street, through Mid-town Lane and past several of our locally owned shops, businesses and restaurants. The goal is to encourage our residents and downtown business community to get outdoors and move naturally but what better way to enjoy the lit trees lining Main Street and the decorated storefronts than to go for an early evening stroll.
